How to Receive Services From Portal Industries

Currently, the Ozaukee County Department of Human Services (OCDHS) and/or Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) determine eligibility for individuals served by Portal Industries.

To receive services from Portal Industries, an individual should meet the following qualifications:

  • Need and want to receive services from Portal Industries.
  • Have a diagnosed disability that represents a significant barrier to employment and/or community functioning.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be referred by a funding agency that has a service agreement with Portal Industries to pay for the services received. Private pay arrangements can also be made.
  • Not be harmful to oneself or others.

Once referred by OCDHS or DVR and it is determined that Portal Industries can effectively provide the level of services needed, the individual will meet with a Portal Industries Case Services Coordinator, an assigned County Case Manager or DVR Counselor and the individual’s parents or guardian to help determine the appropriate Portal services that will best meet the individual’s needs and interests. During the first 30 days at Portal, the individual will, with the assistance of their Portal Industries Case Services Coordinator, establish personal goals and desired outcomes.
