Work Services

For the 42 years the agency has been in operation, Work Services has been recognized as a signature program. That is how the agency started in 1965 and today, more than 100 individuals rely on this enriching and rewarding program to teach them basic work skills, safety, teamwork, and staying focused. The very welcomed result is a paycheck which reflects the work they’ve done and provides money for them to spend within the community for lodging, transportation, recreation, meals and recreation. Last year (2007), the 106 individuals that were part of the Work Services Program collectively earned more than $186,000 in wages and achieved 95% of their personal work objectives. These wages represent dollars that typically remain in the Ozaukee County economy.

The work floor at Portal Industries is well lighted, comfortable and efficiently organized. Our experienced and compassionate staff patiently instruct our Work Services participants in the proper way to complete a project and they’re particularly adroit at designing and developing jigs and fixtures to help get the customer’s job done correctly.

Ultimately, the success of this program hinges on our ability to find participant–friendly work, to be competitively priced, and be able complete the work within the prescribed completion timeframe. Our quality of workmanship has always been exemplary and we’re extremely proud of our on-time delivery record. If you have or are associated with a business that has need of the kinds of work we do — let’s talk!

Contact Dale Mahal or Rick Sellin for an update on our capabilities or to ask for a no–obligation cost estimate. We'll all be glad you did.
